LTMV Lana Fukushima

Hey! My name is Lana and currently I am a volunteer at NPO called “Fukukan-net” in Fukushima city. My main duty is to teach English language and culture to local community. There is another volunteer from Hong Kong. Her name is Esther and she is very cool and we became great friends here!
Main idea of the NPO is the exchange of the cultures. There is a Korean café that is called Iyashi Café where people from whole Fukushima city can try some tasty Korean food and get to know more about Korean culture. Now I share my culture to those people too so they could transmit it to other people and make the relationship between countries much better!
Every day we have a lot of English classes and other interesting activities. For example last Tuesday I spent at the farm quite far away from my place. I enjoyed talking to people and helping at the farm. That was the great experience for me as I am very interested in Japanese and Japanese culture.
I have been here for almost one month and a half so I have tried a lot of interesting activities here and have gone to different places, but I hope that every week and every day will be even more interesting than the previous ones.
And yeah, I am going to have the best ramen tomorrow!

Hallo :)
Man darf jedem Tag selber entscheiden was man gerne machen möchte.

[Nabari] Experience the beauty of Akame no mori!

Hello there, I'm Debby from Italy.
I'm currently doing my activities as a volunteer in Nabari city (Mie prefecture), working with the "Akame no mori wo sodateru kai" NPO for a three-months long project!
The city is big and interesting, also very close to bigger cities like Osaka, Nara and Nagoya. Plus, there is so much green in here and the landscape is awesome!!
The forest is very big and well-maintained, you can enjoy wonderful places for tourists like the famous "Akame 48 waterfalls", but also feel the real japanese countryside lifestyle here in Akame no mori Eco Resort!
The Eco Resort takes care of the trees in the forest (now very helpful for the Fukushima reconstruction), growth 0f mushrooms and other activities with local people.

***

Hope you'll follow our experience stories through this blog! Let's build a better world!
Goodbye~

A presto!!

Debby
